The Wolf Is Undergoing A Server Relocation

Written by on 8 April, 2021

The Wolf Australia’s New Country radio station will be running a backup (“emergency tape”) music playlist on repeat whilst our server is relocated interstate. Regular programming such as 615 The Grind, Thunder Throwback Hour and Workday with The Wolf will be replaced by the standard ‘New Country Now’ music mix.

The Wolf Australia launched its New Country radio station in June 2017 thanks to IT support from a local radio station based in the Huon and Hobart regions of Tasmania. Although our business operations were Sydney, NSW based, all audio was streamed online from a server hooked up in the Tasmanian station’s own IT racks. This rack space was generously provided to The Wolf to assist with our initial launch.

Our friends in Tassie are relocating and reconfiguring their own setup which means our server will need a new home. We’re excited to be able to bring this server to our business base in Sydney. This will allow more hands on operations as apposed to remote working (we did it before covid made it cool).

The Wolf is run by passionate fans of radio, digital content and of course country music. We are still committed to our goal of delivering contemporary crossover country music to Australia and supported home grown talent often overlooked by the local music and media industries.

If this description suits you too, we’d love to hear from you! We’re always looking to bring more people to the team.

The Wolf is a volunteer funded and operated project and are grateful for the support we’ve received from our Tassie friends, the music industry and of course you listening in.
